I am looking to purchase a Kubota B6100E 4WD with 525 hours on it. The tractor comes with a BushHog brand 48" roto-tiller, turning plow, and potato plow. It has been kept out of the weather, not even any seepage from seals, and runs out like a top. 1)What are the pros and cons of this model? 2)What is a fair price to pay? The seller doesn't know the exact year model as some of the tag serial #'s have worn away. Can someone please advise me? Thanks so much in advance!

Most tractors have serial numbers stamped somewhere on the cases. Model, year etc. usually can be identified from serial numbers. A lot of stats and serial number info can be found at sites such as tractortips.com. I believe I have noticed a few errors and omissions however. ....

Thanks for the information Tom. The ID tag is on the left side of the frame, but the #'s weren't "stamped" so they are illegible. I'm not as concerned what year model the tractor is as much as how reliable and what a fair price is. Thanks for taking the time to post my inquiry. ....

I have a late '70s B6000E in mint condition, also with the 4' tiller and a 4' woods belly mower. My tractor is only 2WD, but i have been very pleased with it, especially as a garden tilling machine. I also use a 5' rear blade for dirt and snow with reasonable results - the 4WD will do even better. To get an idea of price, take some time and search machinefinder.com - there are always a few 6100's for sale, and pics of most machines so you can compare condition. I have seen early 80s 6100 4WD with mower only for approximately $4000 - if that helps at all. If you buy it I think you will enjoy the little tractor. ....

Thanks for your post Steve. I will check out the site you suggested. I talked to an old country tractor dealership in North Ga. today about the tractor. They told me the 5,500.00 the person is wanting for the tractor with all the implements is a fair/good price. They spoke well of that particular model and said exactly what you stated about it being a great little tractor. Thanks for your advice and time to post your thoughts. I appreciate it!
